Abstrak :
The title of this research is ‘Language Variation Reflected in Eki no Denkoukeijiban’. The purpose of this research is to describe language variation in eki no denkoukeijiban and the Japanese view of it. This is a descriptive qualitative research that uses the matching method. Analysis is done by using the “sort out the decisive element” technique. Data of language variation in eki no denkoukeijiban was collected by documentation and online questionnaire spread out to get a Japanese view about language variation in eki no denkoukeijiban. 8 (eight) sentences of train arrival notice language were used as data. The result of this research showed language variation in eki no denkoukeijiban based on the language style and its function. The variation showed by (1) teineigo and kenjougo verbs (2) topic of the sentences (3) adverbia that indicate time (4) warning subordinate clause. Based on the view of the language variation in eki no denkoukeijiban it is concluded that Japanese choose the notice language that describes time and gives a warning rather than its language structure.
