Abstrak :
This research titled "The Analysis of Personality of the Main Character in Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas Novel by Eka Kurniawan". The purpose of this research are to describe the novel's structure and the personality of the main character in Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas by Eka Kurniawan. This research focus on Ajo Kawir as the main character.
The data in this research were Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas novel and other sources to analyze the novel. Technique in collecting data were reading carefully Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas novel by Eka Kurniawan, noting the important things in the novel, and classifying the data to answer the research questions. The technique in data analysis were describing the structure of the novel like character, characterization, setting, and plot of Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas novel by Eka Kurniawan, describing the personality of the main character in the Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas novel, and concluding the result of analysis of Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas by Eka Kurniawan that appropriate with the research questions.
The result of the research showed that the personality of the main character in Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas by Eka Kurniawan was actually a nice person, responsible, strong, and nice to the women. However, because of his traumatic experiences in the past and bad condition of his penis, made him change his attitude. Ajo Kawir became a pessimistic person, angrier person, stubborn person, and maudlin. He wreaked his despair to the other person and acted based on his id and ego. Ajo Kawir did not have a balanced id, ego, and superego. Ajo Kawir tended to choose the pleasure than the sociological aspect in the society, so there was not a balanced personality in Ajo Kawir.
