Abstrak :
Cybersecurity and protection of personal data is a basic form that is very
influential in the world of protection of information and communication
technology (ICT) as well as in the legal world. A good cybersecurity and data
protection framework can provide an important and fundamental starting point
for ensuring that strong laws and regulations are in place to protect personal
data. This research aims to determine the comparisons as well as the strengths
and weaknesses of the cybersecurity legal framework in Act Number 19 of 2016
concerning Amendments to Act Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and
Electronic Transactions which are referred to as the ITE Act in Indonesia and the
Cybersecurity Act 2018 in Singapore, as well as the legal framework for personal
data protection in Act Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection
(PDP) in Indonesia and the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) in
Singapore. This research uses a normative legal research type, with a statute
approach and a comparative approach. The specification of this research is
descriptive-analytical with secondary data types and sources, and data analysis
was carried out qualitatively. Based on the results of the discussion, it shows that
Singapore has cybersecurity regulations that are superior to Indonesia because
they have more complete provisions. Indonesia already has a good personal data
protection law when compared to Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act. The
weakness in the ITE Act and the PDP Act in Indonesia can be an evaluation for
the government to be able to change legal regulations regarding cybersecurity
and personal data protection in Indonesia for the better. Keywords : Comparative Law, Cybersecurity, Data Protection, Personal Data
