Abstrak :
The purpose of this research is to describe actant scheme and functional model in Ryoushi no Bouken by Miyahara Koichiro and Akai Neko by Okino Iwasaburo. Descriptive analysis method and literary study technique is used in this research. Theory that I used in this research is narrative structure theory from A.J. Greimas. These theory used to find actants and functional model from Ryoushi no Bouken and Akai Neko’s character in every plot. These actants had different elements, which is: subject, object, sender, receiver, opposant, and helper. The result of this research are as follow, Ryoushi no Bouken is divided into 4 parts. Every parts had different structure. 1 scheme is completed but the other 3 are incompleted. Then this short story had 4 functional model, which are completed. Then Akai Neko is divided into 3 parts. Every parts had different structure. 2 scheme are completed but the other 1 isincompleted. Then this short story had 3 functional model, which are completed. The conclusion is these two short story had different actant scheme, because Ryoushi no Bouken’s actant scheme isn’t balance while Akai Neko’s scheme balanced. These two short story had equal functional model because their functional model is completely perfect. Ryoushi no Bouken isn’t match with narrative structure theory by greimas while Akai Neko is matched.
