Radio is one of the electronics mass media which is still loyal to provide information to the public. A news or information that is needed by the audience will be delivered via radio in a different way compared to other electronic mass media that rely on visual images. Radio Paduka FM Purwokerto have proven that radio can provide news that is accurate, reliable and qualified through Suara Jawa Tengah program.. Therefore, the author decided to write a report about "News Selection Strategy Used on Suara Jawa Tengah Program at Radio Paduka FM Purwokerto". The method used in collecting data to write job training report were interviews, observation and review of the literature. The job training was held on August 1 to August 21 2015.
The purpose of this job training report is to find out the news election strategy used on Suara Jawa Tengah program at radio Paduka FM Purwokerto. The election process aims to determine which news to broadcast worthy and which are not. The news election strategy used on Suara Jawa Tengah program at radio Paduka FM Purwokerto are choosing news with the hottest topics, personalized, full of imagination, locally-emotional and have a passing groove. News certainly have requirements that must be fulfill in order to be a good news. The most important news requirement is fulfilling the 5W + 1H: What, Where, When, Who, Why and How.
In applying the selection strategy for broadcasting news, Paduka FM also has some obstacles. The obstacles is lack of personnel to selecting the news. Solutions to overcome is recruit an employee for selecting news.
From the results of job training at radio Paduka FM Purwokerto, it can be concluded that Paduka FM is one of the private radio station in Purwokerto residency that always broadcasted a weighted news and qualified for the listeners, although there are some obstacles inside
