Abstrak :
This job training is entitled “SEF INDISC (Students English Forum Interview and Discussion) Broadcasting Program in Radio Dian Swara Purwokerto”. This job training was conducted in Radio Dian Swara Purwokerto from 19 January to 22 February 2016. The purpose of the job training is to know more about SEF INDISC program, the procedure to broadcast, and benefits of this program for the listeners. Methods of research that used in this job training are observation, interview, documentation review, literature, web browsing, and questionnaire.
SEF INDISC (Students English Forum Interview and Discussion) is one of broadcasting programs in Radio Dian Swara Purwokerto. This program is designed to obtain the vision of Radio Dian Swara Purwokerto. This vision is to develop Banyumas people’s knowledge by giving educative programs. This program is performed in English discussion that talks about informative themes. This program is divided into two sections. Those are interview the guest star and discussion section. In interview section, the guest star is interviewed by the announcers related to certain topics like hobby, experience, and their skills. In the discussion section the announcers discuss about informative themes such as health, life style, culture, and technology. The procedure of broadcasting SEF INDISC program is divided into two steps. The first is pre broadcasting, this part is aimed to look for the guest star and prepare the themes that will be discussed in the broadcasting time. The second is broadcasting time is the core of the program which consist of opening, interview section, music time (western song), discussion section, “did you know”, and closing.
Based on the observation done at Radio Dian Swara and questionnaire that given to respondents, it is known that 70 % from the total of respondents state that SEF INDISC program has benefits for listeners to learn English because this program can improve listening comprehension and speaking skill. It also enlarges the listener’s view about vocabulary, grammar, and the knowledge perspective of the listeners.
In conclusion, SEF INDISC program in Radio Dian Swara Purwokerto is very useful especially for the listeners who want to improve their English skill, especially listening and speaking and finally this program is also useful for enlarging the listeners’ knowledge about recent information.
