Abstrak :
Narcotics abuse in Indonesia has become increasingly alarming and
widespread across various layers of society, necessitating public participation in the
enforcement of narcotics-related criminal law. This study aims to analyze the
effectiveness of narcotics law enforcement in Banyumas Regency and to identify the
obstacles affecting its effectiveness. The research method employs a sociological-
legal approach with a prescriptive-analytical research specification. The study was
conducted at the Banyumas Police Department, using primary and secondary data
collected through interviews and literature review. The data were analyzed
qualitatively and normatively. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of
narcotics law enforcement in Banyumas Regency has not been optimal, as the
number of cases, suspects, and evidence continue to rise. Although law enforcement
agencies have undertaken preventive and eradication efforts, these actions have not
significantly reduced narcotics-related crimes. Key obstacles in law enforcement
include a lack of public participation, reluctance to report crimes, and a low level of
public awareness regarding narcotics laws and penalties.
