Abstrak :
This study entitled "Indonesian abbreviation In The Newspaper of Radar Banyumas". The purpose of this study is to describe the types and processes of Indonesian abbreviation which contained in the newspaper of Radar Banyumas in the 14th Edition of December 20, 2015.
The forms of this study is descriptive qualitative. Data and sources used in this study is the form of the abbreviation, acronym, contraction, fragment, and the symbol which issued in Radar Banyumas in the 14th Edition of December 20, 2015. Data collection method used is refer to the basic techniques of tapping techniques and its subsequent is a notetaking technique. The method used to analyze data that is identity method with basic techniques, namely sorting technique decisive element, while the technique of sequel that appeals equalize circuit techniques. The results of data analysis in this study are presented informally.
The results obtained in this research, there are five types of abbreviation, which are abbreviation, fragment, acronyms, contractions, and the epitome of letters with various patterns of abbreviation formation and also found other forms of abbreviation. Various processes abbreviation found in the newspaper of Radar Banyumas. The process that occured in the abbreviation of the five types of abbreviation that is by forming various patterns which already exist in the Indonesian language and the pattern formation of new ones.
In general, from the data obtained on the pattern formation, one of the most common acronyms used in the newspaper of Radar Banyumas is an acronym formed by the first letters of each component perpetuation. Pattern formation of fragments that often arises is the perpetuation of the first three letters of a word. In the Acronyms and contractions, One of the most common pattern used is the perpetuation of letters and various syllables which are difficult to formulate, while the pattern formation of the letters that have appeared emblem is the symbol of the letter which formed from the first letter of the perpetuation of the combined components. In addition, there are other forms of abbreviation with the pattern formation of condensation on the abbreviation which more dominant in the newspaper of Radar Banyumas.
