Abstrak :
SUMMARY
The purposes of this job training are to know how they guide the tourists, how local guides learn English for guiding tourists, and what source of information they use about to describe Tamansari tourism site. The job training was done conducted on January 23,2017–February 23,2017. To collect the data, the writer used three methods:observation, interview and literature
review. Based on the obtained data, the writer concluded that some local tour guides of Tamansari have basic technique
that they usto guide are having nice-looking appearance and being friendlyby giving warm smiles when welcoming the foreigners.They also have some procedures to guide the tourist: filling in the attendance list for guiding turn, introducing themse lves to the foreigners, and explaining general information about Tamansari. Moreover, some local tour guides get their English skill through self-taught. They get the source information based on story from courtier or „abdi dalem‟in local language. Some constraining factors that guides experience are words recognition,the attitude of foreignersand basic knowledge between local tour guides and the foreigners.To overcome the problem, they learn more vocabularies, practice English more by guiding more tourists, and joining a workshop for tour guides. Besides,they also give information about the run down and give clearer details related to thesource of information aboutTamansari
to minimize miunderstanding the information.
